Dog/Cat Registration form by Mail

Berkeley Heights Town Ordinance #20-90 requires that all cats and State Law
requires dogs of licensing age (7 months) be licensed through the Municipal
Clerks office. All licenses are for a period of one year. All rabies must be good
through November 30th of the licensing year.

In order to register or renew your dog or cat's license by mail, please fill out the
following form and mail it to the address indicated at the top of the form along
with all the proper paperwork.

   LICENSENING PERIOD: January 1 to December 31.
   DOG LICENSE FEES: $10.00 SPAYED OR NEUTERED
   $13.00 UNALTERED DOGS
   $ 5.00 LATE FEE AFTER JAN. 31ST
   CAT LICENSE FEES: $7.00 Each Cat
   $5.00 LATE FEE AFTER JAN. 31ST

What Gets Recycled?

Metal/Glass/Plastic
Tin, Steel, aluminum, and bi-metal cans (e.g. soda, canned pet food, soup,
and tuna cans). Glass bottles and jars. Plastic containers (e.g. milk and OJ
jugs, water bottles, laundry detergent and shampoo containers).
Rinse well and remove all caps and lids.
Newspaper/Mixed Paper
Clean newsprint (including inserts) must be bundled in twine no higher than
12" or placed in brown paper bags. Newspaper bundles should be placed at
the curb next to your recycling containers.
Cardboard
Corrugated cardboard must be flattened then bundled and tied into stacks no
higher than 18 inches.
Paint

Empty paint cans (remove lids) and empty spray cans will now be accepted.
Used Motor Oil and Oil Filters
Berkeley Heights residents can recycle USED motor oil and USED automotive
oil filters at the Department of Public Works Complex, 101 Columbus Avenue,
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. There is a (5)
five-gallon limit per visit.

Certified Copies of Marriage, Domestic Partnerships, Death and Birth Certificates:

Marriage, domestic partnerships, death and birth certificates are kept on file in the Township Clerks office by the Registrar of Vital Statistics in Berkeley Heights. If a
marriage, domestic partnerships, death or birth has taken place in Berkeley Heights, you may request a certified copy from the Registrar located at 29 Park Avenue, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.

The charge for certified copies is $10.00 and checks are to be made out
to the Township of Berkeley Heights. All requests by mail must state the
name and date of event, how many copies are requested and self addressed
stamped envelope. You will also need fill out the request form and provide 2
forms of identification. Please note, only events that have occurred in
Berkeley Heights are recorded in Berkeley Heights.

Voter Registration

Voter registration forms may be obtained from the Municipal Clerks office located
in the Municipal Building. Deadline for registering to vote is the 29th day prior to
any election. You may register to vote after the deadline but will be unable to vote
in the election immediately forthcoming.

Voting by Absentee Ballot
Absentee ballot applications are available in the Municipal Clerks office located in the Municipal Building. Applications must be received by the County Clerk at least 7 days prior to the election by mail and by 3:00 on the day of the election if the voter appears in person at the County Clerks office.

Once the absentee ballot application is received by the County Clerk, the County Clerk will then forward the actual absentee ballot to the voter. The absentee ballot must be received by the County Board of Elections, by mail or hand delivered no later than 8:00 p.m. on the day of the election in order to be counted.

ONLY VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT.
